So, you take all these photos and don’t get paid for it? Why would you waste your time doing that?
To be honest, it’s a personal hobby of mine and I don’t think I should get paid for something I enjoy doing. Plus, you rewarded me with one of the best doenjang jjigae during my time in Korea. The least I can do is share it with my friends.
You don’t need to share it with your friends. I keep plenty busy with my regular customers and probably can’t handle the extra attention. But, I appreciate your kind words. Not many customers know how hard it is to sell my main dish – woorung doengjang jjigae 우렁된장찌개 (soybean soup with freshwater snails) and bori bap 보리밥 (barley rice) – at this price point.
I know. Besides the price, it’s not easy to get this particular dish in Seoul compared to the countryside, where I enjoyed it countless times. Is it true the snails are primarily added to dishes to cure hangovers?
Let’s just say I wouldn’t have survived all these years in Seoul if it weren’t for these snails.
