Myungwol Jip 명월집 (Incheon)

Over the years, many people have asked me where would I go for my last meal if I left Korea the next day. Couldn’t really think of just one answer as the diversity of dishes in Korean cuisine are so many, but for me personally, here it is. A very special baekban restaurant specializing in a “simple” set meal that’s been open for over half a century. Would like to write more but I know I’ll eventually run of room so, to end the week on a positive note, hope you enjoy these precious photos because they were hard to come by. Actually they’re all hard to come by, but I had to fib a little more because, after experiencing this life-changing meal, I absolutely had to thank the owner personally. Pictured meal is 8,000 won – absolutely everything is refillable including proteins – plus 10,000 won for a box of Bacchus that I gifted the entire staff because, did I forget to mention, it was the best meal I’ve had in Korea. For anyone who visits, you too will be gifting the owner something after dining here – it’s that good.
